18 Appeti Tennis players headed up The Bromley Tennis Centre Spring Tournament last week, a Grade 3 Regional tournament. With players ranging from Ashleigh in the 8U draw and Ollie and Mia competing in the 18U draw. It was going to be a busy week.
The week started with the 12U and 16U Boys and Girls draw and saw Appeti Tennis School players Seb, Ciaran, Ollie, Marta, Toby, Amelia, Mia and Ulrich all competing, there was a constant flow of matches on and off court and kept coaches Eb, Tim and Faye on their toes.
In between running to matches it was lovely to bump into former Appeti Tennis player and pupil James Davis. James was with us from the age of 4 - 14 and is just about to go to The University of Oklahoma.
In the Boys 12U Toby Froud gave the performance of the week to reach his first Grade 3 Final, beating the Number 2 seed, Ben Roberts 6-4, 6-3 along the way. Toby fought hard in the Final against Hugo Coquelin and despite a valiant effort lost 1-6, 2-6.

Mia put in a very confident performance in the Girls 16U draw despite being unseeded, making it to the Final without dropping a set. Her form continued in the Final and Mia won the draw against Abisola Pitan 6-2, 6-4.
Over in the Boys 16U draw Ollie came runner up in a very close Final losing against Jorge Beltrao 6-7, 4-6. However, Ollie did grab the 16U Boys Doubles title later that day.
It was also great to have coach Dominic along for the Finals and he was really impressed with the all round performances of the players. He is looking forward to getting stuck back in next term with more coaching.
