Week 3 of the Appeti Tennis summer tour was at the St. Georges Hill Open in Weybridge, Surrey. The St. Georges tennis club is situated in a private gated community and is host to 30 courts. All players and coaches had to wear whites and all our players looked fantastic!
In the under 8's, we had Chloe and Ashleigh competing and both won 3 of their 4 games with great performances from the pair.
The 14U girls proved a tough draw for Marta and Amelia as they met each other in the quarter finals, that match saw Marta prevail as the winner, she unfortunately lost to the eventual winner in the semi finals, a solid week for Marta!
Ollie came runner up in the 16U boys after a string of great performances, he eased past the Number 2 seed in the last 4, but nerves got the better of him as he couldn't take down the 1st seed losing out 6-4 6-3 in the final.
In the 14U boys we had our only singles main draw win of the week with Ciaran and he did it without dropping a set and beating the Number 2 seed in the final 7-5 7-6, a well deserved victory for some fantastic attitude and hard work!
After 2 comfortable wins in the men's draw, Big Seb couldn't quite get the better of the 2nd seed despite a solid match, however, it did eventually mean he lost to the winner for the 2nd week running.
Ciaran and Toby made their way to the final in the 14U boys doubles after taking out the 2nd seeds in the semi final with a spectacular 6-1 6-2 win. They couldn't quite manage a similar match against the 1st seeds, but nonetheless, making the final unseeded is a great feat!
Finally, Big Seb and Tim managed to make the quarter finals of the men's doubles, but lost out a close match to the Number 3 seeds 7-5 6-3.
It was great to have Fillie and Marty come and spectate and of course Marty did her bit to keep everyone smiling!
Yet again, another week of good attitude and positivity within Camp Appeti.
Next week we move to Eastbourne as the guys get to test out their grass court skills at the Devonshire Park club.
